Greater Cleveland · Free in-home visit

Stair lifts for the house you already live in.

We come look at your stairs, tell you what will actually work, and put a price in writing. Nothing is ordered until you say so.

You don’t need to know the brand. You need the upstairs back.

People call after a surgery, a fall, or a year where the stairs started taking too much out of them. The bedroom is still up there. So is the bathroom you prefer. A stair lift is a seat on a rail. You sit down, hold the control, and go.

You do not have to decide over the phone. We look at the stairs first — how steep they are, how narrow, whether they turn, and how you use them day to day.

If a lift is more than you need, we will say so. A grab bar or a ramp is sometimes the better answer. We would rather send you that way than sell you a chair you don’t need.

A typical house on a residential street
We work in ordinary houses — Colonials, split-levels, ranches — across Greater Cleveland.

What we put in

The lift is fitted to your staircase, not the other way around. Most homes need one of these three.

Straight stairs

One run, top to bottom, no landing in the middle. This is the most common job. We measure, cut the rail to length, and often finish the install in a single day.

Turns, landings, curves

If the stairs bend or stop at a landing, the rail has to be made for that house. We measure, the rail is built to those numbers, then we install it. It takes longer. It also fits your stairs and nobody else’s.

Reconditioned

A returned lift, rebuilt in our shop, with a new rail cut for your stairs. Same warranty as a new unit. Lower price. Worth asking about if the budget is tight.

  • Fits stairs as narrow as 29 inches
  • Seat and footrest fold out of the way
  • Battery backup if the power goes out

What happens when you call

There is no script and no call center. During business hours, someone here picks up.

  1. You call or email

Tell us the town and a little about the stairs. We set a time that works for the person who lives in the house.

  2. We come measure

About half an hour. We look at the staircase and how you use it — not just the tape-measure numbers.

  3. You get a written quote

Priced for the lift those stairs need. We do not order anything until you approve it. You can say no.

  4. Install, then we stay

We put the rail on the treads, ride the lift with you, and do not leave until you have used it and feel all right with it.

Local. Not a franchise.

Andrew Michael Group is a small company. The person who measures your stairs is usually the same person who installs the lift and comes back if something needs service.

We work Greater Cleveland: Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights Colonials, split-levels in Willoughby and Mentor, and the houses in between.

If you are calling for a parent, come to the visit if you can. It helps when the person who will use the lift is home too.

“We treat every home as if it were my own mother’s.”

Plain answers

How much does it cost?

The stairs decide. A straight run costs less. Curves and landings cost more because the rail is made for your house. A reconditioned lift can bring the price down. We do not quote a number over the phone. The visit is free; the quote is in writing.

Will you wreck the walls or the carpet?

No. The rail mounts to the treads. We do not open walls and we do not pull up carpet.

How long does the install take?

Straight lifts are often done in a day. Curved rails take longer because they are built after we measure.

Are my stairs too narrow?

We work down to about 29 inches. We will know when we see them.

What if the power goes out?

The lift has battery backup, so you are not stuck on the stairs.

Do I have to buy on the first visit?

No. You get a written quote. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.

Who answers the phone?

Someone on our local team. Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm. Not a call center.

Call and set a time.

Tell us the town and a good window to come by. The visit is free. There is no pitch waiting at the end of it — just a look at the stairs and a written price if a lift makes sense.
